Gabrielle Boswell - Director

II have been teaching yoga since 2002 and consider myself blessed to be able to share that which I am truly passionate about with others through regular yoga classes, workshops and retreats.  Yoga is a practice of awareness: body, breath and mind - the vehicles through which one finds harmony and connects with spirit. My classes explore a balance between stability and ease of movement. When the body feels supported, it opens naturally.
The yoga I teach is of a creative nature, using smooth transitions between postures , themes and imagery. It is gentle and nurturing, with options and modifications so everyone can participate. Bhava yoga is inclusive, not exclusive; you are encouraged to move your body in a way that is ALWAYS pain free and in a comfortable range of movement.
I completed a Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy and Level I iRest Yoga Nidra certification early 2013 and incorporate my knowledge of anatomy, health and wellbeing into all my teachings.

Wendy

Wendy Bradtke-Director

Wendy Bradtke’s interest in Yoga and eastern spirituality began in her teens. During her early career as a Fine Artist, she studied yoga as a compliment to her work with Life Drawing as an artist and teacher. She discovered Bhava Yoga in the late 1980's and made an immediate connection with its creativity. Later, she came to Creative Dance as an expressive extension of Bhava Yoga.

Wendy sees Yoga and Dance as an amazing vehicle for exploring creative potential. She is dedicated to helping students to create a sense of self that is resilient, creative and transcendent. Wendy is Bhava's most experienced teacher having taught continuously at the Centre for 22 years. She teaches a relaxed style of Hatha Yoga, emphasizing ease of movement and freedom from strain. She creates an atmosphere in class where students feel comfortable in their own range of movement. She believes flexibility, stability and strength in yoga go hand in hand, and that a relaxed body and mind are key to progression in yoga.

Wendy has studied Meditation, Yoga & Ayurveda with Dr Deepak Chopra, Davidji, Claire Diab and Dr David Frawley at the Chopra Center in California. She is a graduate of Chopra Center University and a Chopra certified Meditation Instructor. She returns regularly to attend retreats and courses at CCU.

She teaches Dr Chopra's Primordial Sound Meditation at Bhava in a weekend course during the year, and it is her great joy to give participants their personal meditation mantra during the course.

Wendy is currently completing a 400hr certification with Dr David Frawley in Ayurveda, Yoga, Mantra and Meditation therapy to become an Ayurveda Yoga Wellness Consultant.

Kylie Cook

I first came to yoga via a Janet Balaskas pregnancy book. I fell in love with the gentle practices and seven years and 2 very easy, beautiful births later, I sporadically continued the same birthing practice. On moving to Melbourne and continuing to own an organic greengrocery, I had the good fortune to meet a Bhava trained yoga teacher and deepen my practice, with weekly private sessions. I loved the transformation of my being state from a tired and weary body with an overly busy mind, to being rejuvenated. energised with clarity and a deep inner peace. Every time it felt like a magical journey of discovering myself and bliss. I loved the kindness, the gentleness, the beauty and the integration of all aspects of myself. I feel so incredibly fortunate and blessed to have discovered Bhava and to teach the yoga has been such a delightful, joyous, uplifting  part of my life.
I am a 2017 Bhava Yoga Teacher Graduate. In 2006 I became a Rebirther Training Australia Breathwork Graduate. In 2005 I graduated as an Inner Peace Meditation Teacher. In 2017 I also graduated in Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Centre Tibetan Traditional Sound Healing levels 1,2,3 & 4.

I have been journeying this path of Yoga for the past 15 years and sharing my learning as a Bhava-trained teacher for the past 5.  My classes are gentle yet with moments of strength, reflective and calming in nature. Yoga is a way of living in that my discoveries ‘on the mat’ can most often be applied philosophically to the rest of my life beyond the yoga mat. So many postures request a well-choreographed dance between moments of strength and surrender; times to hold on and times to let go. For me Yoga has and continues to be a path of growing awareness. It is an honour and a blessing to hold this space for others as they journey the inward path of Yoga and growing awareness.

Tori

Tori Swedosh

Tori has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years and teaching for nearly 10. She has practiced many different styles of yoga and strongly feels that yoga is NOT about flexibility but is an exploration of breath and mind to the body. In other words getting out of the head and into the heart. Stretching, balance and strength are added bonuses. We practice to stop the chattering of the mind, the constant noise. Yoga in its true essence is about stillness and finding calm. It’s a different experience for everyone. She is also a fully qualified personal trainer and pilates instructor teaching classes from teenagers to seniors.
